![]() | Da Pliars - If You're Gonna Do Something Wrong Do It RightRock | Pensylvania | 1982Philadelphia rock band Da Pliars' 1982 LP If You're Gonna Do Something Wrong Do It Right!, released on Half Track Records. Da Pliars was a rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, active in the early 1980s. The members of the band were Ray Legnini, Joe Nicolo, Phil Nicolo, and Dave Johnson. In addition to this LP they also released at least one single in 1982 "No Football No More b/w Fan Dance Mix" and a novelty Christmas recording with a few other local Philadelphia acts. Beyond this, I can't find much info on the band. I did find this blurb on reverbnation.com: "Band? Political party? Lifestyle choice? Inside joke run amok? Da Pliars were all this and more. At once sophomoric and sublime, this unique collective included many of the finest musicians, engineers and producers that Philadelphia had to offer in the 1980s. Their recordings were coveted; their live performances... the stuff of legend. Were they iconoclastic visionaries, or just a bunch of guys with a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of recording equipment and too much time on their hands? Listen... and decide for yourself." Dae Han Sisters - Dae Han SistersPop | Nevada | 1984The Dae Han sisters consisted of Yong, Terina, Oggi, and Becky. For a band with a (seemingly) long career I can't dig up much info on them. Based on a few YouTube comments, it looks like the sisters performed in Las Vegas, Reno, and Lake Tahoe throughout the in the 70s 80s, and 90s, specifically at the Eldorado Casino in Reno and at the Hilton Hotel in Vegas. Others mentioned seeing them in Hawaii and Massachusetts, so they must have toured around to some degree. The October 1987 issue of Orange Coast Magazine says that the sisters started playing together in 1968 as The Seoul Family and did some U.S.O. tours in Vietnam before moving to the U.S. in 1972. In addition to this album, Yong released an EP in 1983 called Yong E.P. Yong has songwriting credits on many of these tracks, including the three clipped here. Additional credits on the album include Craig Pallett (Yong's husband) on keyboard/trumpet, and Ron Gutierrez on drums. The album was produced by David Crigger and Craig Pallett. The session was engineered by John Vestman at Trianon Studios in Long Beach, California. The album was mastered by the legendary Bernie Grundman. I can't find any concrete evidence of the group performing past the late 1980s. No URL available. |

![]() | Delamore, Richie - Folk Songs and Native GoombayCalypso | Bahamas | 1961Track from Richie Delamore's 1961 LP Folk Songs and Native Goombay, released on Bahamian Rhythms. There is very little information online about Richie Delamore. He recorded actively in the 1960s but I cannot find any information about his career beyond that point. I do not know if he is still alive. From the back of the LP sleeve: "A versatile young entertainer, self-styled and self-trained, Richie Delamore started in the entertainment field as a drummer, and was noted for his 'Drum Conversations with Berkley 'Peanut' Taylor. During his six years of singing professionally Richie has appeared at the Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, and Roney Plaza in Miami, has toured clubs in the United States and Canada and has been a featured entertainer at Nassau's major hotels and nightclubs. He is frequently referred to as the Belafonte of the Bahamas. The underwater scene on the cover of this album is part of the world in which Richie Delamore grew up, and a very vivid part in the life of most Bahamian youths, especially those on the islands other than Nassau - the 'Out Islands'. Richie is from Eluthera but now makes his home in Nassau." Listen on YouTube or The Internet Archive |

Dominion Bluegrass BoysBluegrass | Virginia | 19781978 LP from Virginia bluegrass band The Dominion Bluegrass Boys, released on Rebel Records. The Dominion Bluegrass Boys were, at the time of this LP, Cecil Hall on guitar, Clifton Mabe on guitar, Michael Hazelwood on mandolin, Richard Joyce on banjo, Marshall Hall on bass, and Ronald Pinnix on guitar and mandolin. They were active since at least the early 1970s and released a handful of LPs and CDs over the years. They also recorded under the name The Dominions with many of the same members.
